The “Achievement of Carbon Neutrality through the Establishment of a Domestic Scrap Steel Supply System” project submitted by POSCO INTERNATIONAL’s Green Materials Business Division was finally selected as an outstanding example. This involves investing in processing facilities to support exemplary domestic scrap steel suppliers through the “Domestic Scrap Steel Collection Center” project, while getting a stable supply of a certain amount of scrap steel from them.

POSCO INTERNATIONAL received high praise for its efforts in ▲ establishing a stable system of scrap steel supply to achieve carbon neutrality, ▲ supporting the long-term market development of scrap steel suppliers and fostering a win-win ecosystem, and ▲ creating a resource circulation ecosystem by reusing steel waste in steel production.

The company became a joint winner together with “Gunwi Steel,” one of its domestic scrap steel suppliers. At the ceremony, Kim Jung-Pyo, CEO of Gunwi Steel, stated, “Our focus on building trust rather than seeking immediate profits has strengthened our partnership with POSCO INTERNATIONAL. We will continue to supply high-quality scrap steel to maintain this win-win relationship.”

In addition to POSCO INTERNATIONAL, other companies such as LG Electronics, SK ecoplant, and CJ ENM were also honored as outstanding examples, receiving commemorative plaques during the ceremony.
